"HSVMP showed me how essential good business leaders are for change. Business intersects with every sector, from entertainment to government & public policy, etc. High level decisions have a major trickle down effect, and it comes down to good business leaders in those positions to make those power plays. The program not only gave me an inside look in the life of a MBA student, but it helped me see how far I could push myself in new, challenging settings. All in all, it showed me I am more than capable to take on an MBA, and work towards becoming a good business leader."
"I applied to the summer venture in management program (SVMP), a residential pre-MBA program at Harvard Business School (HBS) for rising college seniors, due to its emphasis on addressing current management issues in organizational behavior and operations. A premedical student at the time, for me this translated to better prioritizing limited resources and cutting expenses to improve healthcare systems across the globe. Through a rigorous analysis of 14 business cases using the HBS Case Method, I gained valuable skills in operational management and further refined the benefit of a business degree for my future career goals. Currently a first year medical student at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of medicine, I aim to apply for the joint MBA with the Wharton School, before pursuing a residency in neurosurgery."
